Job Description: This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location. As an Optical Technology Systems Engineer on our team you will provide systems engineering support to the HPC Technology team that evaluates, integrates, and understands the operations of cutting-edge, emerging systems’ capabilities with the emphasis on HPC hardware and optical communication technology. Responsibilities include supporting the following:Performing analysis and providing recommendations of optical interconnect technologies at the chip level.Evaluating vendor’s system architecture and development environment with analysis of systems’ ability to satisfy unique HPC requirements.Conducting a thorough evaluation of advanced capabilities relating to HPC systems.Writing formal reports and white papers about advanced technologies. | ||
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.Strong experience in performing technical analysis.Strong technical writing experience.Experience in fiber-optic technology, especially chip-to-chip communications.Background in Hands-on systems analysis; computer architecture and operating environment.Understanding of computational complexity, experience with signal processing.Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:Experience with IC industry and customer.Ability to work independently on high-level technical tasking.Experience with HPC systems. | ||
